My Little Monkey…

Good Morning Baby Girl,

You are now 14 months old and your little brother is close to arriving. We try to explain to you that he is in my tummy but I am not sure that you understand (or that you want to understand).

We are back from the beach house and have settled into our routines.

You have 4 molars through and have mastered eating just about all food types. On Sunday night we went out for dinner and you sat up to and Asian meal and then last night you had thai. No more mashed up baby food for you, my dear.

We have been swimming a lot lately as it has been so hot! You walk straight up to the pool and turn around to dangle your legs in. If you can feel that the pool step is there then you will go even further.

You also play in your minny pools that Nonna and Poppy Roo bought you for Christmas. If you want to go in you get the pool and drag it over and then point to the hose so we fill it up for you. Clothes and all go into the pools along with tillys lead which you wash daily (I don’t know why I bothered to buy you any other toys).

You know exactly what we are talking about at all times so I explain everything to you. If you want a bath I tell you that we will need to go to the stairs… So you do. Or I might say that we are going for a trip in the car… So you walk to your side of the car and tell me you are ready to get in. It is incredible just how much you understand.

Sunglasses are your favourite accessory at the moment. If you see a pair – on your head they go.

And of course there are always plenty of giggles with family and friends.

We celebrated Australia Day at the beach house and it was lovely. You had to have a picture being the Vegemite kid and all.

You love blueberries and grapes and I no longer need to chop them up for you.

You caught up with your friends Sage and Austen on the weekend and had a ball. You had lots of cuddles with Sage and Austen shared his grapes with you (one by one). It was very cute.

You had a nice relaxing swim with Dad as well and did not want to get out of the pool despite having been in there for over an hour.

You have your own bag now (not the handbag that you take “shopping” with your trolley) but the backpack that Aunty A bought for you even before you were born. All of your special toys go in there so that you have bits and pieces to play with when we go out.

You are so unbeliveably cute at the moment and very independent. Your vocabulary is coming along (because you never stop chatting). And you have developed this funny little chuckle that is so very adorable but also a little bit evil.

Your father and I are already so proud of you and can’t wait to see your progression through life.

All my Love,

Mum. Xxx

      1. It definitely can be a bit daunting. With my first two, I really did feel sanity coming apart a bit when the older one started cutting her 2-year molars at the same time as the younger one started teething. But once that was all over, they’ve been the most amazing pair, and actually are far easier to care for together than separately as they keep each other busy. They’re now also awesome big brothers & sisters! 🙂
